This month has been full of return clients coming back with the 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th child!  I love it!  The Ruen Family from Hilliard Ohio had me capture their son, Avery, when he was a baby and now, he’s a big brother to his sister, Lydia! I’m always so flattered when return clients will contact me to capture their growing family and newborn session.

It was so great to see Avery.  He’s grown so much since I last saw him and he’s so handsome! He was great with his sister.  I usually can determine if an older sibling is able to hold their sibling. I could tell he was responsible but we always have a spotter.  That is why I always have an assistant at the newborn sessions to help spot the babies

Lydia’s Mom requested that I style the session in grays, blush and some sage green.  We added some greenery and florals to her session to get those greens and blush colors that she wanted.

Avery did so great for her session. She pretty much slept the entire session and didn’t make a peep! I love that during a newborn session with me, the parents can sit and relax in my seating area.  I usually put some relaxing music on and Moving Art.  I have water, Starbucks Coffee, and snacks available and want to make it feel as if they were in a spa environment. The lights are dimmed, it’s warm and comfortable for the baby and the clients love it. They always tell me it’s the first time they’ve gotten a break since they’ve had the baby.

Lydia was adorable. She was a little bit older baby almost a month old.  I typically like to shoot newborns about 14 days old, but I always try to get everyone in if I can and if I am available.  It’s best to book your session when your in your 2nd trimester so I can pencil you in and guarantee a spot as I can only take a limited amount of sessions per month as I do have to keep my calendar open for those babies that arrive before or after their due dates.

This was a fun session.  I was so happy to see Avery as a big brother and I’m so looking forward to capturing all of Lydia’s future milestones.  Lydia’s Mom values photography and she loves the keepsake albums that I design for my clients. She also purchased a beautiful Heirloom Wood Print to hang on her wall.  I can’t wait for it to arrive! Thank you Ruen Family for trusting me to capture your newborn and sibling portraits. Congratulations again on your new bundle of joy!
