Having a fussy baby can be a challenge for any parent for caregiver, especially when you’re not quite sure what’s causing the fussiness.  But don’t you worry, there are things that can be done to help soothe your little one and make life a little easier for both of you.

Here are 5 Tips to help calm your fussy Baby:

#1

Swaddle your baby!

Swaddling helps to mimic the feeling of being in the womb, which can be comforting for babies.  Wrap your baby snuggly in a thin blanket, making sure to not cover their face.

#2

White Noise

White noise can be soothing for babies as it reminds them of the sound of blood flow in the womb.  You can use a white noise machine, play white noise on your phone, or simply turn on a fan or vacuum.

#3

Go for a Walk

Sometimes a change of scenery can help calm a fussy baby.  Strap your baby into a carrier or stroller and take a walk outside.  The fresh air and movement can be calming for both you and your baby.

#4

Offer Comfort

White noise can be soothing for babies as it reminds them of the sound of blood flow in the womb.  YOu can use a white noise machine, play white noise on your phone, or simply turn on a fan or vacuum.

#5

Off your baby a Pacifier

Sucking is a natural way for babies to calm themselves.  Offer your baby a pacifier to help soothe them.

Remember every baby is different, so it may take some trial and error to figure out what works best for your little one.  Don’t be afraid to reach out to your pediatrician if you have any concerns about your baby’s fussiness.
